I was just sent this via email a few days ago. I never heard of him, but when I watched the video, I fell in love with this song; and I want the freedom to travel to wherever I want to go. Enjoy.

Lonely Postcard
I read this postcard on the PostSecrets blog.
To me, this is one of the saddest things that we do to one another, whether we know it or not.
So many of us wrap ourselves in our own problems, whether they are our own, our families, our friends or anything that does not permit us to reach out to others who are alone and lonely.
So many of us do not even take the time to think about what a lonely existence someone around us may be leading, hiding or having too much pride to express their how alone they are.
I heard a while ago I heard a television commercial while doing something else when the television was on, touting that the most important thing in life is family. I pondered that concept and thought, how selfish.
I did not think about that again until this postcard I read today.
How selfish to think that if we only concern ourselves with our families, that we are absolved of those who do not have any, who have no one to talk to, no one to lean on and take a respite from life.
Imagine a lonely person on the outside looking into your perfect little most important family that sees nothing but itself. So sad. That is what I thought reading the postcard.
For as long as I can remember, I have always in someway felt the pain of others who have some unfortunate circumstance in life. And the next time I am asked for directions or someone talks to me while waiting on a line, or says hello to me on the street, I will remember to smile broadly and openly and if they want, take some time out of my own troubles and thoughts to show that person, who may be communicating with me to break their loneliness, some genuine warmth.

Hello, David
Last night, I was home alone after visiting my brother, his wife and my beautiful nephew, who is about eight months old.
I called the ex, Dick, and was going to invite him over to eat with me. I was preparing a steak chili, which was on my mind since that morning after arranging the cans in the cabinet, having read the back of one of them.
My sister in law and I had gone to the local Mall that day in the hopes of finding a realistic and traditional Santa for my nephew's first Christmas. We are all trying to normalize things despite my mother's killing, and this was one of those activities in the attempt at making the normalization process work.
I called Dick again, no answer on his cell. I decided to make the steak chili anyway, figuring it would last me for a few days. I am not used to cooking for one, having come from a family of five siblings, having cooked for the lot of them for most of my life.
I prepared the chili and it's accompanying cous-cous. Depsite having omitted most of the ingredients the canned recipe called for, such as sugar, cinammon, tomato soup and oregano, the chili tasted pretty damned good.
After I finished eating, Dick calls. He was in the supermarket, buying King Crab.
As I previously relayed, Dick is a Taurus and their fascination with food is uncanny. What is also unfair is his ability to not pack on the pounds and cut a very striking figure.
For instance, true to form, I was speaking to him the other night, telling him instead of meeting him, I was going with a friend who was picking up something she wanted from FreeCycle. I happened to mention I was eating a grilled cheese sandwich, something quick and easy because I was getting picked up in few minutes.
No sooner were the words out of my mouth, I heard the lust of food in his breath before he said that sounds so good; and with that, he ended the phone call because he was well on is way to making his own grilled cheese concoctions. It is literally as he became blinded or mesmerized by the suggestion of food.
So he asked me if I wanted King Crab. No, Dick, I do not, I just ate. He asked if he could come over with his groceries and though I was tired at this point and in sleep wear, I agreed.
When he arrived, he had about three pounds of Crab, four cannisters of Pillsbury Crescent rolls and one pound of butter.
I had a large pot ready so he could steam his crab and pre-heated the oven for his crescent rolls. He melted one half pound of butter into which he put his de-shelled crab. He also dipped those already buttery crescent rolls into the melted fat.
As he sat at the table eating, he was unable to finish because he had a large bowl of steak chili, proclaiming his approval of its goodness, with every other mouthful, prior to shoveling large spoonfuls into his mouth. He scoffed at the cous-cous since it did not contain any oil or butter.
I had the television on in the kitchen and we watched television as he ate and I drank a cup of hot tea.
Dick is the most prolific channel changer, having to have total control of the remote. I never did enjoy watching television with him due to this unruly habit of overworking the control; bits and snippets of various movies, shows or news was not how I enjoyed the television. On occasion, he would have the opposite effect of his regular viewing habit-he would doggedly watch something he found of interest.
And last night, he had on the Discovery Channel's secrets of the Free Masons, talking his way through this program, complaining every time a commercial was on. This was about 1 am and I was beginning to think it was a creepy show. I am not a fan of being creeped out knowing I was alone at home for the night after Dick would finally leave. He insisted on relaying to me information about various evils. We went from watching the Food Network to creepy Free Mason secrets.
As I was sitting there, trying to not fall asleep, hoping Dick would decide to go home, I see my new blog friend, David, on the television. When I first saw him, I was a bit confused. Having had the initial instinct of recognition, it took me a minute to remember where I had seen that face. Albeit, his hair was short, but it was he. I was so surprised, I called out, I know him! Dick was demanding how I knew someone who was obviously living in England.
No one I know, knows about this blog. I had to fend for an explanation of how I recognized this man, David. My explanation was truthful, having read his wonderful words on his website about London.
Hello, David, so nice to have seen you last night. Good thing Dick was more interested in his cup of hot cocoa laced with Bailey's; and my promise to provide him with homemade marshmallows when I get around to making them, and, permitting him to see how it is done. A good thing.

A Damned Fat Cat
As I was blog surfing on Blogger, or attempting to, despite porn sites galore [and I thought the Bestest Blog Ever was bad] I stumbled upon Fat Cat with her side kick Pigassus.
It is a hilarious read about weight loss, which most of us can relate to whether at present or as a distant memory.
They have such similar writing styles that the blog just flows seamlessly from one poster to the other.
I had to read it backwards, from current post to the last, so I was getting myself mixed up a bit, but it was a great read. I wish Blogger would have an option to read blogs in the order the posts where written, without missing any entry.
Its nice to read a blog that is well written, imaginative and so descriptive, without constantly having to be reminded that the poster wishes they would be miraculously discovered by the book literati roaming the internet or whining about why, why, why they have not been yet discovered and launched into instant literary fame and selling like 10 million books.
Fat Cat and Pigassus deal with more pressing matters such as the Monday morning weigh ins and their damned lying scales. Both Analog and Digital.

Good Reads
I was carousing on blogger again-looking for good blogs to visit, and I stumbled across two tonight-witty and interesting writing.
El Guapo recants funny stories about being Guatemalan in our nation's capital- quite witty.
Wide Lawns give us a sharp wit about the uber rich and an outsider's disgust.
I giggled, laughed and chuckled at how these two view their worlds.
Very good reads.

I do love Ham....
I stumbled upon a wonderfully sweet blog, if a blog can be sweet, via the Blogs of Note.
What I liked best was the illustrations of the animals-reminded me of the orignal Winnie the Pooh, which I love.

Krazy Karla
Very gratefully, I stumbled upon another pop out your eyes to read every word blog. Well, my eyes popped long before I could read every entry, but no worries, I will return to finish reading the delightful craziness from Karla.
She not only is witty and sharp, but like a friend from CA once said, sharp like a tack. Now that is to the point.
She hit upon a topic I have mused about, mentally at least, during every trip to a public restroom and sometimes in private homes: the in-aliable TOILET.
Like Karla, I do everything I can to NOT touch a damned thing in any public restroom and I even lament when I have to use an arm or knee to maneuver hands free in that hell hole.
But, I never, as Karla, likened pee sprayed toilet seats AND FLOORS (yes, I will freak out if I thought I stepped on floor pee) to urinal cow spray. Quite a thought. She is quite right.
Why then do women pee on seats? I don't rightly know. I surmise that maybe they don't crouch closely enough to the toilet seat and miss, or they are crouched close enough and can't control the flow while trying to rely on thigh muscles to keep them from making contact with the toilet seat?
They might have a heavy pocket book dangling from their necks, keeping them off kilter from the toilet seat or are trying to hold an infant, keeping them from touching the pee floor and only have one hand to maneuver the removal of underwear and their bladder is not cooperating at such moments.
There could be many, many more reasons, too numerous to put forth here, in this blog, at least. But regardless of the reason, what defies LOGIC, is why why why these women are confounded by the additional and most useful use of toilet paper in a public restroom is to WIPE the seat!
So for now, I will make it a point to return to Karla's blog and see how well the toilet issue develops.

I LOVE YOU New York!
Today being a lazy day, I was searching through blogs, again. I have to find a better way. I googled and though the search results where like 11M, I was only "allowed" to get through 35 pages.... I tried to add key words and just got a lot of the same blogs I had just skimmed.
If I use the NextBlog feature, I keep getting mostly the same blogs or the "bestest blog ever" and the same rotational blogs from there. I also landed on a blog that required a PASSWORD and I had to completely shut down the browser to get OFF of that- what a drag!
But despite all the problems, I found a blog where there are beautiful photographs of famous places in gorgeous NYC. I LOVE NY! There is no other place like it on earth. Just gorgeous.
Take a look at NY at Christmas time, the photos are great!
Macey and Timothy
I will try and start linking to blogs I stumble upon and that I found clever and witty-blogs that make me want to read all entries.
This morning, I found what is called the Mooselog blog, which I was not sure why it was called that.
It's written from the perspective of a beagle dog about life with Timothy, an apparent intruder into Macey's life.
Well written, and "mind catching" for its very fine use of description; it's a blog well worth visiting.
I LIKED it!
p.s. Macey, this little girl looks very much like she could be Timothy's sister: chikkin.blogspot.com

SJ
Have you ever wondered who is on this thing? Self promoters of all types, stranger than fiction individuals, those that you wonder if they have a clue as to how "out there" they really are? Good thing its not a fluid blog site to seach, so that is why I went to the "Blogs of Note"-where I wish they would change those depressing pumpkin orange color schemes they use, emphazized by the dull blue-anyway, I clicked on, say two or three blogs, eh, nothing interesting-then I decided to click on SJ's blog-wow-what an explosion of word play extraordinaire.
I think I blew out my eyeballs from not being able to tear myself away from reading and reading and reading. Amazingly entertaining. And clever.
